Daycare workers provide the foundational skills to young children, including communication, sharing, manners, and motor skills through structured play and creative activities.
They are also known as Child Development Workers, and facilitates age-appropriate educational, mental, and emotional activities for children aged 3 to 5.
In Tarlac City, meanwhile, daycare workers have undergone training from KUMON to strengthen their skills and knowledge in teaching small children inside daycare centers.
Kumon is an educational network based in Japan, and uses the “Kumon Method” which teaches mathematics and reading, primarily to young children.
“Sa murang edad pa lamang, nagsisimula nang hubugin ang kakayahan at pangarap ng bawat bata. Kaya naman patuloy na pinagtitibay ng Pamahalaang Panlungsod ng Tarlac ang mga programang nakatuon sa maagang edukasyon upang masiguro ang mas maliwanag na kinabukasan para sa susunod na henerasyon,” Tarlac City Government has said via FB post.
Around 116 Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) workers have attended the training on May 29, at Bulwagang Panlalawigan ng Tarlac.
Kumon has likewise provided books from international partners for the daycare centers in the city.
The LGU has said that the training is part of Mayor Susan Yap’s initiative to provide strong educational foundation to learners which starts from the grassroots level, especially for those aging 3-4 (which needs the most attention).
“Sa bawat aklat na naipamamahagi at sa bawat kaalamang naibabahagi, mas pinagtitibay ang pangakong ang edukasyon ay nananatiling puhunan para sa pag-unlad ng bawat mamamayan – dahil para kay Mayor Susan Yap, “Tao Ang Una.””
Moreover, the partnership with Kumon seeks to boost the goal: “Tarlaqueño, Matalino.” #
