“Pacquiao Prime Boxing” – Pacman now owns a gym once tied to Mayweather

Manny Pacquiao is now the owner of a boxing gymnasium that is once tied to Floyd Mayweather Jr.; the space which is undergoing upgrades and a new name is already attached to it – Pacquiao Prime Boxing.

Pacquiao and Mayweather are set to a boxing rematch in September this year, a re-match after their record-setting match a decade ago.

While boxing enthusiasts and fans would associate the Filipino icon’s recent purchase with their high-profile rematch, Pacquiao and his team looked at it the other way.

The Pambansang Kamao has said that he wants to create opportunities for the next generation while expanding his footprint in the sport. “This is our passion. To build more boxing gyms and help develop fighters.”

Jas Marthur underscored the gym’s location and visibility as key drivers behind the decision, emphasized on the volume of daily traffic through the Hollywood Corridor. Marthur is the CEO of Manny Pacquiao Promotions.

The facility will operate as a private training center for professional fighters, athletes and select guests. Likewise, there is a plan to expand the model across major markets.

“There was a chance to build something bigger. We’re looking at this differently.”

The Pacquiao team said they are building with a broader vision – focus that extends well past the ring.

Marthur called it a strategy centered on long-term growth, including efforts to bring Pacquiao’s established business footprint from Asia into the United States and beyond.

Alongside the vision is a venture in financial technology. The Filipino boxer has recently launched Manny Pay together with media and consumer products tied to Pacquiao’s global reach.

Manny Pay is a digital wallet platform the team is working to expand internationally.

“Manny is actively involved. This is about building something bigger,” Marthur said.
