Philippine TV actor John Lloyd Cruz has delighted fans after news about him making a new show on the Kapuso Network has circulated on social media.
According to a Tempo story, comedian Bayani Agbayani has confirmed the upcoming sitcom project in a YouTube vlog with Maricel Soriano.
Agbayani has disclosed that Cruz called him and told him that he wants him to join the project, and has also shared that Rufa Mae Quinto is part of the cast.
Meanwhile, there are also speculations that Cruz will be joined by Ellen Adarna. Adarna is the mother of his son Elias.
This is after the two, last month, were seen in a meeting with GMA Network Senior Vice President Annette Gozon-Valdes and Sparkle GMA Artist Center Senior Talent Manager Tracy Garcia.
Gozon-Valdes, per Inquirer, has shared glimpses of the meeting which appears to be in a restaurant. “Ending the work week with exciting conversations,” she said.
Likewise, Adarna has shared the photo on her Instagram stories.
John Lloyd Cruz has had a sitcom in GMA Network way back 2021. Happy Together (pronounced as Happy To Get Her) is a sitcom series broadcast by GMA Network, and ran for a total of three seasons and 74 episodes.
Cruz has also signed a contract with the Kapuso station the same year.
Earlier than that, the actor has had a sitcom series in the Kapamilya station titled Home Sweetie Home alongside Toni Gonzaga. He left the show in 2017 and went indefinite leave after a controversial relationship with co-star Ellen Adarna.
Cruz is regarded as the King of Contemporary Cinema, and has more than ten films with box office grosses of P100 million in the Philippines. He bagan acting at the age of 15 and has over 30 productions to his credit.
