Delivery riders are workers who are into transporting goods such as food, groceries and parcel from a vendor or hub to customers safely, and on time.
The popularity of applications such as Lazada and Shopee has made shopping much efficient and affordable. By simply clicking a button, you have to wait for some days and the product arrives right through the door.
The story of delivery riders will be featured in an upcoming GMA Network series Delivery Boi which stars Will Ashley.
Delivery Boi narrates the story of a delivery rider who have unknowingly became an inspiration in the community after a series of quiet acts of kindness he has done.
He did it amidst life’s challenges and relationship troubles. The soap’s main character is full of vigor to unite the rider community and claim his rightful place.
In a media interview, as disclosed by GMA News, Will Ashley has admitted he felt nervous on taking the lead role but shares of story of gratitude for the trust and opportunity that the network has given them.
“Parang ngayon na lang po ako kinabahan nang ganito simula noong lumabas ako sa Bahay ni Kuya. Pero sobrang grateful po ako, lalo na noong nalaman ko ang istorya kung bakit ako napili bilang si Boi.”
Nevertheless, the young star has embraced the opportunity, “Gagawin ko ‘yung best ko para dito at grabe ‘yung pressure na nararamdaman ko kasi first lead serye ko itong ‘Delivery Boi’. I’m so grateful po talaga sa trust po ninyo.”
Delivery Boi also stars Vince Maristela, Mikoy Morales, Yasser Marta, Keempee de Leon, Meryl Soriano, Eric Quizon, Maricar de Mesa, Nicole Sanoy, Juharra Asayo and Baninay Bautista. This is directed by Adolf Alix Jr. and Dominic Zapata.
