If you are using the social media platform Facebook, chances are you have encountered the groups feature. Here, you’ll find a lot of conversations across many topics and gets instant reply from group members.
But as time passes, the popularity of Groups on Facebook has slowly faded. There was a time when this has become the go-to or the star of the platform.
It was a place to learn and collaborate with other individuals having similar interests. This includes a place, a hobby, a marketplace, a review team, etc.

Recently, an application called Forum was quietly released by Meta – quietly means there was no official announcement but was spotted on the iOS App Store by analyst Matt Navarra.
Basically, it is a separate application for Facebook groups. Meta has called the application as “a dedicated space built for deeper discussions, real answers, and the communities you care about.”
In other words, perhaps rivaling the popular online forum called Reddit.
According to PC Mag, once you log in to the app using your account, you will be greeted with a feed of updates from Groups you’ve already joined. You can also search for and join new groups based on your interests.
Account creation is by linking your Facebook account, hence does not make you completely anonymous unlike Reddit but has the option to anonymize conversations such as the main app.

The application comes with artificial intelligence features like Ask. In Ask, users can easily find an answer to their query based on users’ previous answers instead of searching the group one by one.
Forum is similar to the what’s already on Facebook but having it as separate app provides an enhanced identity and showcases the features it has that is sometimes unnoticed on the FB application.
Meta has said, per Engadget, that the application is still undergoing testing at the moment. “We test lots of new products publicly to see what people find interesting and useful to their experiences across our apps.”
