Talking about experiencing extreme hardships and success, online personality Diwata is among the names that easily comes to mind for most Filipinos. From living under the bridge to having a popular food business of pares overload – now a salon and barbershop owner.
According to a Bandera story, Diwata has recently opened his own salon and barbershop in Trece Martires, Cavite which she called Diwata Salon.
“Punta na kayo [rito] sa Diwata Salon and Barbershop. Magagaling ang ating mga barbero. [Ang] dami laging nagpapagupit. Kung gusting magpagawa ng buhok, magpagupit, magpakulay, at kung anu-ano pa, pumunta na kayo rito,” Diwata said.
The business includes several services such as haircuts, styling, shaving, hair coloring and treatments.
“Magbibigay ako ngayon ng 50% discount sa lahat ng magpapagawa ng buhok kaya puunta na kayo.”
But while he entered a new venture, he noted that his Pares Overload business is still in operation.
Social media users, meanwhile, has received commendation: “Tama po, wala pong imposible sa taong may pangarap at marunong magsumikap. Kahit maraming may ayaw, basta si Lord ang nagbigay wala silang magagawa.”
Another said, “Hello, I’m praying for your abundant success in life. Always praise GOD in all your undertakings in life. GOD will bless you and keep your feet on the ground, and always be humble and simple.”
Diwata, born Deo Jarito Balbuena, is an internet personality, food vlogger, entrepreneur, and LGBTQ+ community advocate.
He is best known for his Diwata Pares Overload business. He ran for a seat in Congress in the 2025 elections under Vendors Partylist.
