The country’s fire department has transitioned from the traditional pen and paper format in conducting qualifying examination to Fire Officer 1 applicants, as they are the first to conduct the Digitized Qualifying Examination.
Bureau of Fire Protection OIC FCSUPT Rico Neil A. Kwan Tiu, in a statement posted on the government agency’s redes sociales, has underscored the importance of the new format such as speed and transparency.
“The digital exam allows applicants to view their results immediately after the exam. This shifts helps us promote transparency and speed up the entire recruitment cycle,” he said.
Tiu added, “Through this innovation, we make sure that hiring is based on merit and fitness, and the process is fast and fair to everyone.”
Applicants who have passed the examination will move to the Physical Agility Test and Medical Examination phase of the recruitment cycle.
Under the transition, around 8,000 applicants were the first to experience the “first digitized qualifying exam” yesterday, July 23.
“BFP Regional Offices facilitated the conduct of the first digital examination. A total of 7,913 applicants nationwide completed their digital exams today. This speeds up the recruitment process and ensures all tests are scored fairly and accurately,” the BFP said. #
