The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Region 2 has conducted a male beauty pageant aiming at highlighting the role of youth in environmental protection.
A set of young handsome males were selected and participated through showcasing their talent, intelligence and creativity in the Search for Ginoong Kalikasan.
According to DSWD, the activity has several segments including environmental adovacy presentations, talent performances, and nature-inspired attire.
Each segment highlights the importance of adopting environmentally responsible practices and underscored the role of the youth as catalysts for positive change in their communities.

“More than a competition, the Search for Ginoong Kalikasan served as a platform to raise awareness on pressing environmental issues and the importance of practicing sustainable habits in everyday life,” the agency said.
The Search, it added, has likewise highlighted the importance of adopting environmentally responsible practices and underscored the role of the youth as catalysts for positive change in their communities.
The initiative is three prong: (1) environmental awareness, (2) responsibility, and (3) youth empowerment.
Meanwhile, select guests were invited in the activity: Dr. Sandra Rose Frando, Mr. John Abbariao, Ms. Mirasol Jarquio, and Ms. Kate Abedes.
DSWD said, “Together with our various partners, [the agency] continues its efforts in strengthening collaboration and delivering responsive social welfare programs to its clientele.”
