Ma. Shevonne Nataniela Alejandro has won the top prize after careful and excellent execution of an original piece titled Flesh and Blood which was described by observers as a masterclass in power and restraint.

CSU OIC-University President Dr. Arthur G. Ibanez has said via FB that Alejandro’s piece required only minimal refinement and it shows a high level of conceptual clarity and performance readiness from the outset.

Ibanez added that the few adjustments that were recommended were carried out with precision and immediacy, which demonstrates her discipline and reponsiveness to the critique.

“Shevonne distinguished herself through a performance characterized by power and restraint. Her delivery did not rely on excess; instead, it drew strength from clarity, timing, and emotional precision. This balance enabled her to command both the judges’ evaluation and the audience’s attention.”

The CSU President said that the winning student embodied both artistic integrity and academic seriousness, carrying discipline preparation and intellectual engagement effectively.

Alejandro is a recipient of the DOST-SEI RA 2067 (Merit) Undergraduate scholarship program of DOST Region 2. This is a scholarship program provided to students with high aptitude in science and mathematics and are willing to pursue careers in the field of science and technology.

DOST R2 has said their scholar’s recent win in the national competition proves that science is not confined in laboratory work but also encompasses the confidence and voice required to inspire a wider audience. #
