ARUBAYAN Farm gets certification for good agricultural practices

The ARUBAYAN Farm in Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 2 (ATI-TRC 2) has received a certification for Philippine Good Agricultural Practices (PhilGAP).

The certification was personally received by Mr. Vladimir B. Caliguiran, OIC-Assistant Center Director. It was awarded by Mr. Derwin Fernando of DA – Regional Field Office 2.

DA – Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) has issued PhilGAP Certificate Number: BPI-0171-26, and was awarded to ARUBAYAN Farm on April 10.

To note, the agriculture department has conducted final inspection in the farm on November 18, 2025, regarding good agricultural practices.

DA Administrative Circular No. 01, series of 2018, served as legal basis for the certification, which is on safe, quality and sustainable production of fruits and vegetables. This is an important step to ensure that the facility follows the guidelines under PhilGAP.

Top officials who inspected the farm are Ms. Ma. Christe Espanto (Agriculturist II of BPI-BNCRDC Baguio City), Mr. Reden Mark T. Casem (Agriculturist I), and Mr. Austhren F. Vidad (Agricultural Technologist from DA-RFO 02).

ARUBAYAN Farm has was provided the same certification for following guidelines from 2023-2025. The new certificate remains valid until December 22, 2028.

ARUBAYAN refers to Agrikultura sa Rural at Urban, Binhi ng Aral, Yaman at Asenso sa Nayon. This serves as model farm and demonstration area for agricultural projects and programs of the agency.

It seeks to show and present different technologies in agriculture, uphold and support Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and disseminate knowledge and innovation that are beneficial to farmers and other stakeholders.

“Sa pagkakamit ng PhilGAP Certification, pinagtitibay ng ATI-RTC 02 ang kanilang patuloy na adhikain na isulong ang ligtas na produksyon ng pagkain, pangangalaga sa kalikasan, at pagpapalakas ng sektor ng agrikultura tungo sa mas maunlad na pamayanan.”
