Given a money, no matter how small, other people are likely very eager to spend it even on frivolous items. However, there are also those who choose being thrifty, for instance the son of OFW saves drums of money.
The drums of bills inspired netizens.
In the midst of the unfortunate events happening today and the myriad of challenges everyone is facing, the importance of saving becomes even more evident.
Whether the amount saved is small or large, what matters most is having funds to rely on during unforeseen circumstances, avoiding the immediate need to borrow money.
Surely, all the toil and sacrifices of a parent working abroad will feel worthwhile if they know that the money they send is being used wisely to improve the family’s well-being.
Take, for instance, a young son of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW). Instead of squandering the money his mother sends on frivolous things or food that simply brings him momentary joy, he turned saving into a hobby.
He diligently stored coins and bills, ensuring every bit of money was put to good use.
In the post shared by Jane Famous, a large drum filled with Gerdan Tolero’s savings can be seen.
The overflowing drum of cash practically took up their living room, with bills flooding the space. The family could hardly contain their excitement as they counted the enormous amount of money Gerdan had saved.
This was reportedly not the first time the young man had opened one of his drums filled with savings.
