San Fernando residents benefit up to P20,000 free outpatient medicines annually from PhilHealth

SAN FERNANDO CITY – Up to P20,000 worth of free outpatient medicines per year is allotted to city residents under the GAMOT program of Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).

PhilHealth GAMOT which refers to Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment seeks to help patients for common maintenance and acute solutions.

This includes diabetes, hypertension, and infections.

This, as the program was launched by the local government, April 6, at the CSF Central Pharmacy, Kayabe Infirmary, City Civic Center in Barangay San Isidro.

PhilHealth has shared that to qualify for the program, a resident has to register at PhilHealth or update their existing record.

Afterwards, the member has to download the eGovApp and select a YAKAP (Yaman ng Kalusugan Program) clinic that is accredited by PhilHealth.

Thereafter, the member has to undergo a checkup by a YAKAP physician or doctor for prescription. The beneficiary would then be eligible to receive the medicine from a YAKAP clinic or GAMOT pharmacy.

The following are the accredited YAKAP clinics:

  • Dolores RHU I / Birthing Station 3 San Jose
  • Sindalan RHU II / Birthing Station 1 Sindalan
  • San Nicolas RHU III / Birthing Station 4 San Nicolas
  • San Agustin RHU IV / Birthing Station 1 San Agustin
  • City of San Fernando RHU V
  • San Fernando Super Health Center

GAMOT Pharmacy meanwhile is on City of San Fernando Central Pharmacy.

Moreover, the city has City Health Office Animal Bite Treatment Center, and HUG Center Health, Understand and Growth for HIV-AIDS treatment.

YAKAP clinics provide up to 21 essential medicines while there are 54 medicines for GAMOT pharmacy.

Both provides services such as health screening, check-up, dental laboratory, and medicines. Other services are maternity care package and TB DOTS for tuberculosis.

The launching of the PhilHealth GAMOT was led by Mayor Vilma Caluag, DOH Regional Director Dr. Corazon Flores, PhilHealth Acting Vice President Atty. Ma. Emily P. Roque, and Acting Branch Manager Dr. Rowena S. Zabat – San Mateo. #
