The Department of Education (DepEd) is intensifying efforts to enhance the capacity of educators, school heads, and supervisors in applying quality assurance standards in the development of learning resources, May 18 at Lallo, Cagayan.
Learning resources refers to print, digital or physical materials used to facilitate education and engage students.
DepEd, meanwhile, plays a key role in ensuring that the materials are aligned with the curriculum and these are accessible to learners.

“We are privileged to have two of our district’s finest leads guiding today’s intensive sessions. Our distinguished speakers are providing invaluable insights into meticulous content evaluation and instructional design,” Lallo North Central School (LNCS), the host of the activity, said via FB post.
The project, dubbed as Project QUALITEACH, has invited Marife Columna and Renie Marantan as resource speakers. Project QUALITEACH refers to QUality Assurance of Learning resources and Innovation for TEachers And CHildren.
LNCS has shared that Project QUALITEACH matters because it sets a gold standard by equipping QA teams with deep mastery of learning resource management, and ensures that the materials are accurate, contextualized, and highly effective.

They said that they keep the materials child-centric by putting young learners at the heart of their outputs.
One one hand, according to a memorandum by SDS Reynante Z. Caliguiran, Project QUALITEACH activity seeks to:
- Strengthen understanding of LRMDS systems, processes, and policies;
- Enhance teachers’ skills in designing effective print and digital learning resources;
- Ensure alignment of learning resources with MELCs;
- Apply principles of quality assurance in evaluating learning materials;
- Promote contextualization and localization of learning resources; and
- Develop and produce quality-assured, learner-centered instructional materials.
The three-day capacity building program in Lallo will take place until May 20, 2026.
