Young vlogger shares tips on how to win as class president

It is just a matter of weeks before the school opening, and as parents and students prepare for the start of the school year – there are those who want to do more than that, to become a class officer.

Being a class officer, you are given lots of opportunities including training on becoming a leader with the help of the class adviser and as somebody who plays a big role in maintaining an orderly class.

Part of class opening is the election of classroom officers. But how to really get that vote?

A young vlogger using the name It’s Lance has shared some strategies, coming from his five years of experience as class president.

Lance has said that you need to know your roles and responsibilities, as this will remind you that you are there to serve and not only aspiring for the title.

Another one, he said, is to be friendly and approachable. First impression matters such as greeting classmates, having a good conversation, and by being active in class discussion.

He likewise underscored consistency, seriousness and willingness to help in class. Even small things, he said, such as listening and being responsible in group work matters.

“It is important to be yourself and not act differently just to impress others, people usually notice who is genuine and consistent with their action even in short amount of time.”

The video upload from Lance has garnered reactions from fellow student leaders. One said, “Being a president of [the] is very responsible. For real, lalo na sa pagsasaway. Huhuhu.”

Another commented, “Actually since Grade 1 and now I’m grade 11, class president na ako eh, kaya parang this incoming grade 12 [escort] na lang.”
