Project SOFIA starts rolling in Bagumbayan Central: “Expand your mind, brighten your day”

Pupil leaders of Bagumbayan Central School in Lallo, Cagayan, has started working to serve the school population even during summer; as Project SOFIA keeps rolling via their social media page.

Everyday, through Bagumbayan Central School facebook account, pupils and other followers gets to learn new words. These are called “word of the day” and the page provides meaning and an example on how it can be used in a sentence.

Project SOFIA refers to Sharing Online Videos and Words for Intelligence Acquisition. It was launched March 9, and is designed to help learners learn new words, watch educational videos, and develop positive values.

School SELG President Sofia Richelle Pascual served as its proponent, and she explained the program during the launching.

She said the project seeks to help learners improve their vocabulary, grow their thinking skills, and build good values through short videos and daily inspiring words.

Meanwhile, school head Mrs. Janelyn M. Bautista has commended the initiative and encouraged learners to make full use of technology to enhance learning and personal growth.

Teachers and parents has shared praises as well, saying this is a great idea because it makes learning fun and helps learners understand lessons better.

The project was well supported by school officials: school paper advisers Mrs. Lorena A. Sucbot (MT1), and Mrs. Helen Grace Columna (MT2), together with school information officer Mrs. Gina F. Garabina (T3).

Meanwhile, Pascual was elected Treasurer of the Division Federation of SELG Officers held on March 23 via Google Meet.

The achievement was a demonstration of her exceptional dedication, determination, and leadership; the school says.

Moreover, the school leader has stepped in the national arena this month in the NSPC which was held April 13-17, in Ormoc City. Her category was Column Writing – Filipino.

“Guided by the unwavering support of her coach, Mam Ethelyn D. Pipo, Sofia continues to grow as a writer who embodies not only skills, but also heart, courage, and creativity – the true essence of an outstanding campus journalist.”
