ABS-CBN investigative docudrama SOCO returns with more spine-tingling crime stories

New cases of family killings, group assaults, and other crimes are about to be told on Philippine TV as the popular investigative docudrama of ABS-CBN returns for its second season this Saturday, April 11.

SOCO: Scene of the Crime Operatives rolls out with more explosive and spine-tingling crime stories for its second season.

The new season immediately shocks televiewers with the narrative of a 2025 case in Malaybalay City involving a criminology student who killed his father, mother and younger siblings using a hammer.

Viewers, likewise, need to watch out for the story of an examinee case in October 2023, Tondo, Manila, where a criminology student was attacked by a group outside a bar.

There’s also the story of 15-year-old student in Valencia, Bukidnon who was found dead and beheaded after being reported missing, with authorities later identifying a suspect with a prior record.

The episodes disclosed, aside from the many crime stories to be featured on the show, are titled Maso, Kuyog, and Pagnanasa.

In the second season, veteran reporter Gus Abelgas will be joined by ABS-CBN reporters Jeff Caparas and Jessie Cruzat, who will present the details and developments of the cases.

SOCO is an investigative docudrama seeking to find answers to serious crimes with the help of forensic investigators and the local police.

The show has received multiple awards, the most recent being the Most Outstanding Public Affairs Show in the 3rd Gawad Lasallianeta; where Abelgas was also awarded Most Outstanding Public Affairs Show host.

The docudrama had a successful run until it was temporarily stopped in 2020 due to the quarantine caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The second season will be aired on ABS-CBN sa All TV 2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel and Kapamilya Online Live.

Early access starting April 11 is available on the iWant application, with basic plan priced at just P35.
