He Sold Vegetables in Streets, Now Have Successful International Career with 6 Professional Licenses

Years ago, you would see Chad Anthony B. Villela as a young industrious boy who sells vegetables along the streets of Pio del Pilar.

Coming from humble beginnings, he began working at a young age to help his parents, and this has likewise served as an anchor to dream high.

“I began selling vegetables at ten years old, and that experience strengthened my determination to study and work toward a better future,” he said via The Summit Express interview.

But, now 50 years old, he has moved far from the impoverished life he once had. Further serving as inspiration for young ones.

Engr. Villela has a successful international career, have six professional licenses and lots of academic qualifications.

His life story narrates strong determination, proven by extreme hardships rooting from discipline, responsibility and honest work that started from his vegetable selling experience.

In 1997, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology and passed the licensure examination later on. Thereafter, he earned Registered Master Plumber and Geodetic Engineer. He is also a licensed Real Estate Broker, Real Estate Appraiser and Environmental Planner.

He is engaged with works in Santa Rosa, Laguna, helping in community progress through land developments, engineering surveys, roads, waterways, drainage systems, and infrastructure planning.

Engr. Villena, has experiences working on international projects, in countries: Kenya, Nigeria, Qatar, Singapore, Australia, India, and Malaysia.

While successful, he continuous to deepen his knowledge in more fields – currently studying Doctor of Philosophy in Developmental Administration.

“Do not measure your readiness solely by your age, academic history, or present circumstances. Begin with a clean purpose, prepare systematically, and remain consistent even when progress seems slow,” his advice for younger people.

“Learning does not stop because of age; it keeps the flame of purpose alive and prepares us to serve others more meaningfully.” #
