Philippines’ version of the reality talent competition The Voice Kids has recently introduced its new set of judges for its third season, which includes Yeng Constantino and Gloc-9.
Constantino is a popular OPM hitmaker who is behind timeless classic soundtracks such as Hawak Kamay, Ikaw, Chinito, Salamat, Cool Off, and Time In. Her songs have been part of the life of many generations – and keeps the hearts of every Filipino.
Gloc-9, meanwhile, is a Filipino rapper who has popularized iconic songs such as Upuan and Sirena. His songs is known for tackling social issues.
According to GMA News, both singers are looking forward for the project.
“Siyempre po ano bilang isang mang-aawit, ‘yung maging coach ka ng The Voice, isa ‘yan sa mga checklist na gusto mong magawa sa iyong career and I’m just so grateful na ibinigay ito ng Panginoon in his right time,” Yeng said.
She said she’s looking for something unique, whose voice already serves as their identity when performing.
Gloc-9, meanwhile, is looking for attention-grabbing contestants. “Iikot ako ‘pag tama ‘yung unang line pa lang nakuha mo na ko. Parang regardless kung nasa mataas ‘yung note ka nung song and alam mo naman unang timbre pa lang pagkanta.”
The coach has said that while he’s being called as coach in the show, he is looking forward to learning from fellow coaches and the encounters with new and young singers.
Yeng and Gloc-9 will be joining Julie Anne San Jose who is on her fourth year as coach of The Voice Philippines.
