The City Government of Tarlac is boosting its efforts in enhancing the skills and entrepreneurial mindset of its residents, recently – the Muslim Community.
Mayor Susan Yap has helped make this a reality through the recently held Entrepreneurial Development Training for Muslim Cooperatives, May 14, at the Executive Boardroom of Tarlac City Hall.
Training was conducted by the Public Employment Services Office (PESO) in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and its Integrated Livelihood Program (ILP).

A city official who shared a speech during the training has emphasized on the importance of entrepreneurship in achieving stable income and broader economic participation for Muslim cooperatives in the local market.
Yap, meanwhile, has said, “Patuloy nating suportahan ang mga programang nagbibigay oportunidad at dagdag kabuhayan para sa ating mga Tarlaqueno.”
The local chief executive has likewise announced additional support for the cooperatives under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program.
This includes P500,000 worth of equipment and goods for the Tarlac City Muslim Cooperative (Halal Store). In addition, P200,000 interest-free cooperative loan was provided to the Tarlac City Calamansi Growers Agriculture Cooperative to boost its business and farming activities.
Yap has reaffirmed the local government’s commitment in delivering inclusive and productive programs which open doors for all sectors of the community.

On one hand, the Muslim cooperative-beneficiaries have shared gratitude for equipping them with essential skills in merchandise selling, business management, capital handling, strategy development, and identifying growth opportunities for their livelihoods.
DOLE ILP is a government program providing assistance through grants to individuals and groups to start a livelihood project, expand or upgrade an existing project.
Also on restoring or re-establishing existing livelihood projects destroyed due to natural and human-made disasters, or transform existing livelihood assistance to community/group enterprises.
