Tarlac National High School (TNHS) was declared champion in the Most Creative and Engaging ARAL Wonderland competition which was initiated by the provincial government.
ARAL Wonderland is a fun-filled, interactive reading-themed park seeking to help bridge reading gaps and promote interest of reading among learners. This is supported by DepEd Tarlac.
“Ang ARAL Wonderland ay isang reading-themed park na binuo dahil sa programang Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning ng Department of Education na nagpo-promote ng love for reading,” Chief Education Supervisor Joel Guileb said.

In an FB post, the TNCS has thanked the individuals behind their achievement, which includes: Vilma O. Esteban (Filipino Department), Pedana Ranola and Rex E. Taberna (English Department), Dr. Mark Anthony C. Pimentel (Assistant School Principal II), and Dr. Yolanda M. Gonzales (Principal IV).
“To all the learners, parents, and teachers who helped in building ARAL Wonderland, thank you for your passion and dedication. You made the magic happen!”
Meanwhile, Governor Christian YAP said that ARAL Wonderland is a project that transformed the essential work of academic recovery into an inspiring journey for children and youth.
“By turning literacy into an interactive ‘Wonderland’ experience, we are not just teaching children and youth how to read; we are teaching them to love the process of discovery and learning,” he said.
Guileb, has added that the activity allowed them to explore a variety of reading materials and activities, helping them prepare for classroom teaching.

He has also emphasized that one of the prime purposes of ARAL Wonderland was to encourage maximum community development.
Project ARAL which refers to Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning is a learning intervention effort for Filipino learners struggling to meet grade-level competencies.
“Sa pangmatagalan, makakatulong siya dahil gaganda yung abilidad ng ating estudyante, especially sa sinasabi na critical thinking,” Education Secretary Sonny Angara said.
