DOLE Region 2 produces 6 licensed teachers through government internship, special program for employment

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region 2 has produced six licensed professional teachers through the Government Internship Program (GIP) and Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES).

The six program beneficiaries have passed the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT), as per result released by the Professional Regulation Commission.

Public Employment Service Office Manager Wilma P. Lapena has commended the new teachers, “We are proud to see that these former beneficiaries are now Licensed Professional Teachers, proving that the programs have made a positive impact on their journey toward success.”

The new licensed teachers are Jerico C. Ramos, Krystal Mae N. Espe, Geileene G. Ilagan, Lorenzo V. Cadiz, Vincent B. Centino, and Jinky Therese D. Sales.

The government program is a huge help to their family, Ilagan shared, as his father who is a farm laborer was was ill. Her mother, meanwhile, works as a street vendor to support their needs.

“Sakto pong may sakit noon ang tatay ko kaya malaking tulong na nai-refer sa akin ng friend ko ang SPES,” she narrated.

Per Ilagan, the stipend she received was used to buy school supplies, and thanked SPES for helping her continue her studies and pursue her goal of becoming a teacher.

She is set to begin her teaching journey at La Salette of Quezon this coming school year, 2026-2027.

Espe, on one hand, said she was provided employment by DOLE at the Mayor’s office and Sangguniang Bayan Office in Mallig, Isabela.

She further disclosed that the financial assistance she received here has helped support her educational needs which allowed her to continue her studies, and graduating as cum laude.

In addition, Sales was assigned at the rural health unit while Centeno was at the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).
