The program is ongoing on eight barangays: San Isidro, Tibag, Sapang, Maragul, Carangian, San Luis, San Vicente, San Rafael, and Matatalaib.

The Tarlac City government, who is in-full support under Mayor Susan Yap, aspires that through this program, health and nutrition of the children and youth will improve – which is a component of a productive and prosperous community.

A Teacher Rizalina Legacy

Turns out, the partnership with Rise & Rebuild Foundation to provide support to undernourished community is an initiative that was started by Master Teacher I Rizalina Nacpil of San Manuel Elementary School, Tarlac City.

Together with Teacher Rizalina, the foundation was able to build eight feeding centers with complete utensils. This seeks to help find solution to undernourishment, which is among the reasons for children illiteracy and absenteiism.

They also conducted 100_Day Feeding Program under Nutrition Education Program, attended by 2,500 recipients from 21 public schools in Tarlac City.

Because of this, Teacher Rizalina was awarded Dangal ng Bayan Award by the Civil Service Commission in 2022, Oustanding Teacher by UNESCO-Apnieve Philippines, Asia Pacific Network for International Education and Values Education.

“Hirap ng Buhay”

Teacher Rizalina has experienced “hirap ng buhay in life” or having less to meet ends meet when she was young, the reason why she wanted to give back.

The initiative has started in 2015 when she was employed at Burgos Elementary School, as she wanted to help her students having impoverished life.

Thereafter, friends and the school showed support. “I told myself I need to do something. Hindi ko man ma-eradicate sila sa poverty, at least may magawa ako para makatulong,” she said.

Further improvement took place in 2019 when she moved to Tarlac City and formally launching “Kaagapay Mo Gift Giving and Charity Programs”. Included in the initiative is providing scholarship to select children.

She has reportedly about 70 scholar children in 2023.
